Simon and Vanessa Celebrate with A Thousand Years
Accentuated with stunning Cadbury purple, Simon and Vanessa’s wedding was full of love and personal touches.
Simon found my website when searching for wedding harpists in Birmingham, and after a phone conversation about price and my standard repertoire, he and his fiancée booked me and planned a time for their wedding music consultation.
When I first met the couple at my home I could tell immediately that they had been together a while, 9 years it turns out! They showed me pictures of their beautiful son, Owen, who would be the pageboy at the ceremony.
Vanessa had already selected the song she wanted to walk down the aisle to, A Thousand Years from the movie Twilight. I played through more songs and from the selections they chose:
Songbird by Kenny G, My Heart Will Go On from Titanic and Somewhere in Time for the signing of the register
Mendelsohn’s Wedding March and Pavane for the recessional
For the prelude music, the 20 minutes while guests arrived and were seated, included Memories, A Time for Us, Chasing Cars, The Rose, Wonderful Tonight and A Whole New World.
We had several conversations during the 9 months before their wedding, and became friends on Facebook watching and celebrating each other’s lives.
Simon and Vanessa’s wedding ceremony was full of love and little personal touches from family and friends. It was such a pleasure to be a part of their special day, and I loved keeping up on their honeymoon adventures via Facebook. The best part of this job is the people I meet and get to be friends with; thank you Simon and Vanessa!
