Wedding at Warwick House Gardens
Jeanette and Jonathan created an intimate, personal wedding in the beautiful gardens of Warwick House
Jeanette and her fiancé, Jonathan, are very busy people so after booking me to play for their wedding we really struggled to find a date to get together and chose the ceremony music. Neither of them had heard a harp in person before either, so the music consultation was something they were really looking forward to. In the end, we ended up with a Music Consultation via Skype – while they were on the balcony of a villa in Greece! The beauty of technology meant they could get a better “feel” for how the harp would sound on the day, and I was able to play through some pieces to help them select the songs they wanted for the ceremony.
Their September wedding day was a glorious one with beautiful sunshine and just enough cloud to keep everyone from getting sunburned. Jeanette’s sisters set up the outdoor ceremony area and the family priest was there to bless the happy couple. The bridal party entered the ceremony to Canon in D, then everyone stood for the bride as I played her in with the spectacular Bridal Chorus. The couple chose songs for the Signing of the Register that meant something special to them: Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Wonderwall and Perfect. Everyone clapped as the bride and groom left the ceremony to Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling and then onto the drinks reception.
I was asked to continue the music through the drinks reception, so we picked up the pace a bit with more popular songs including I Can See Clearly Now, Rather Be by Clean Bandit and Happy Together.
It was such a pleasure to play for Jeanette and Jonathan – I wish them many, many years of joy and happiness!
