Rowton Castle Wedding
I have played nearly 100 weddings in my “harping” career, but rarely have I felt the level of energy and excitement at a wedding like the Stockton/Wroe wedding at Rowton Castle.
The groom made a grand entrance in a helicopter, a surprise gift from the bride! But there didn’t seem to be any of the usual pre-wedding jitters, from anyone. The couple, their children, and 100+ friends, celebrated the marriage of these two wonderful people, who were so clearly overflowing with love!
The guests arrived to classical prelude music played in the stunning reception area of the castle – here is a video of that:

After the guests were seated, the mothers, groomsmen and groom took their places accompanied by Pachabel’s Canon. The bride and her party arrived to the traditional Bridal March from ‘Lohengrin’.
There were readings and poems from family members which drew laughs and tears, and not one eye was dry after hearing the special vows the bride and groom wrote for each other.
Fur Elise accompanied the signing of the register, and the newly married couple glided back down the aisle to Ode to Joy (although I’m sure they didn’t hear a note of it). The guests followed to the upbeat notes of the Alpine Waltz and a Gavotte by Gluck.
“Michelle – thank you so much for being a part of our wedding. Your harp playing added such a beautiful ambiance to the day. We received so many compliments on the music – guess we picked the right pieces in the end! “ L & G Wroe
