Studley Castle Wedding
Katy and Neal chose a song for their bridal processional that had a real connection to their family, and brought real meaning (and tears) at their gorgeous Studley Castle wedding.
You may not know that there are more than 1,400 castles in England, but few are as stunning at Studley Castle for a wedding. Katy and Neal had been together quite a long time when they chose the date of their wedding. They came to my home for a music consultation, which turned out to be a long, fun session – they seemed to love EVERYTHING I played!
We finally narrowed down the tunes for the signing of the register (The Rose, Fur Elise and Love’s Old Sweet Song) and the recessional (Pavane), then began compiling the pieces for prelude music. The final list included A Time for Us from Romeo and Juliet, Flower Duet by Lakme, The Gift of Love, Moon River, the theme from Love Story, and Pachabel’s Canon.
But it was the processional that really set the tone for the entire ceremony. Having recently lost their beloved grandmother, Neal and Katy chose Wind Beneath My Wings at the song to start the wedding and what Katy would process in to. This song meant so much to them they didn’t even want to hear it on the harp before the ceremony!
Their ceremony day was gorgeous and the castle was decked out in deep claret/wine coloured sashes and accents. There were pictures of the bridal couple from their years of dating, and pictures of their family.
Everything about the day was so special and meaningful to the couple. The ceremony was gorgeous, followed by drinks outside on the patio. What a beautiful wedding day for Katy and Neal.
